Lately, I’ve been obsessing a little bit a lot a bit over tricked-out ‘Sprinter’ van conversions.
Like I mentioned in my recent decluttering post- we love traveling + how it supports our minimalism practice…. plus worldschooling is our preferred way of learning.
So we decided to try on the van life concept (for travel- not full-time living) by booking a camper van that we’ll travel around sunny Florida in for Sophia’s birthday.
(She really wants to recreate this picture🤣)
So I thought it’d be fun to share my latest obsession with you- van designs:
As a family of 4 there are a few things that are important to me in a ‘tiny home’ on wheels:
Bathroom + shower on board
A decent size fridge because we cook most of our meals
A small kitchen/cooking space
Comfortable cozy spots that face the view
A smaller sized van
Space for everyone to sleep comfortably (and for Collin and I to hang comfortably in once the kids are asleep… and I’m also keeping in mind that as they grow they’ll want a little space to themselves too)
And then I found this design- The Sandy by Jorvik Van Conversions in England:

And I LOVE it!!! So much so that I texted Collin last night and said…. I think I found our next trip idea (you can stay in one of their campers and road trip around England to see how it feels!!)
All I can imagine is:
Drinking a tea cozied up on the couch looking at the green English countryside… getting ready to write my next post. ✨ DECADENT right?! ✨
What I love about this design is:
When you travel it can feel like you’re at home
Our dog could safely travel the US with us
We’d always have food and a bathroom on the road (if you’re a mom… you know)
And the seat belts are integrated into the couch- no need for uncomfortable seats that only function one (albeit very important) way
There are only a few adjustments I’d make for our family:
First I love putting my feet up when I get cozy so I’d add a pull out section like this to the front couch:
Secondly, The Sandy accommodates a TV and a decent size bathroom but we’d trade those for a bigger fridge + hidden toilet like Crozier Campers did here:
Lastly I’d want to make sure the kids had their own space to sleep- that Collin and I could also close off so we could hang (before we crash less than an hour later. 🤣)
So I’d play around with different ideas like:
Maybe a pop top like we’ll be trying in Florida:
Or maybe some version of a bunk situation:
Or maybe they get the back half and we could curtain them off from each other and us with the front couch converting into our bed?
And maybe we’ll go on this trip and be like ‘Nope! This type of travel isn’t for us’ 🤷🏼♀️🤣
Either way I think it’s fun to play and dream up things. Maybe you’ve found yourself obsessing over something too and then felt like you “shouldn’t” be spending time on it…. even though it’s lighting you up. (*cough cough* me as I’ve gone deeper down this rabbit hole.)
I thought it’d be more fun to shake those ‘shoulds’ away and play- which is why I wanted to share this with you↓
Your turn! What have you been obsessing over lately?😍
P.S. If you noticed the cover picture and wondered what it was… I did design and renovate a van in my past life🥰 I had a wardrobe styling business and create a mobile boutique ✨ Maybe it’s not that crazy of an idea??
