Here are 7 Cleveland Mompreneurs I'm fangirling over right now
Tune in to the NEW Cleveland Mompreneur Guide Podcast
I love this town. I love the women here. And… if you know me, you know… I love being a connector too.
As I’ve been falling in love with Substack and changing the way I create I thought our Public Podcast Feed of 2.5 years (formerly the Mompreneur Guide) could use a little refresh.
Introducing:
What better way to use it than to turn it into a hub for Mom-Owned Businesses in the Land? And to launch it on Mother’s Day!
So here are 7 Cleveland Mompreneurs I’d love for you to meet:
1. Sara Shookman
Location: Eastside
Kids + Ages: Isla (4) + Luca (2)
Why I’m fangirling over her: Sara and I met a few years back in 2017, when she was an NBC news anchor and I owned my wardrobe styling business, The Style Foundry. Together we'd create style segments to help the women here in Cleveland feel confident in their clothes.
Fast forward 7 years later and now we're both mompreneurs who have expanded both into new businesses of our own and families too.
I was so grateful to sit down and reconnect with Sara in our studio where we not only reminisced on life and our TV segments before kids but also dove into her life update- launching StoryGlow Studio too.
2. Tiffany Houdek
Location: Medina
Kids + Ages: Cal (1.5)
Why I’m fangirling over her: Charity D’Amato (another amazing mompreneur I’ve featured here) introduced Tiffany and I and after our chat at the studio we instantly clicked. From her simple, mindful approach to life to her delicious cookies to seeing a previous version of myself in her- there’s so much goodness to be had when Tiffany is in the room.
3. Michelle Venorsky
Location: Chagrin Falls
Kids + Ages: Natalie (15) + Olivia (13)
Why I’m fangirling over her: Michelle is amazing. Not only has introduced me to so many people (like Sarah and Ellen at Flipfort, Josie and Nicolette at Broadview Eye, Charity D’Amato at Studio Chartreuse and Shari Hunter at Two Cafe) and helped me reintegrate back into the Cleveland area after having a local business and then going online for two years but she also naturally embodies a Slow Marketing approach in her business.
4. Bianca Lea Morra
Location: Mentor
Kids + Ages: Cash (5) + Silas (3)
Why I’m fangirling over her: Not only is Bianca one of my best friends but she’s also been transforming the way I create. I have opened my eyes so much to the layeredness and the depths that, if you allow photography to have on your life and work. And I love our intersection between our creative mediums, it's same-same with podcasting and photography.
5. Molly Cheraso
Location: Hingetown
Kids + Ages: 10 year old twins
Why I’m fangirling over her: I met Molly last fall and loved the way she showed up. Calm, mindful, intentional and her business is right up my alley. Verbena is a spirit-free bar and shop and has since become our go-to Wednesday Date-Night Spot. From her delicious shop items (like Kin’s sleepy time mixer) to her craft drinks you can have in her beautiful space. I can’t stop raving about this Hingetown Spot.
6. Dre Wien
Location: Van Aiken
Kids + Ages: Miles (4)
Why I’m fangirling over her: Dre and I were also introduced during Season 5 of the podcast and we quickly became friends. Not only do our kids share a love for the same toys but we both have a love for all things entrepreneurship and growth. I had recently come across Human Design and during our interview Dre shared, in addition to her Van Aiken store- Ladder, that she mentors business owners in this modality. I love all that I’ve learned in this space.
7. Isabel Pritchett
Location: Chagrin Falls
Kids + Ages: Payton (10) + Penny (2)
Why I’m fangirling over her: Isabel and I became friends back in my styling days. And I’ve been fan girling over her kindness and style since then. But now it’s a whole other level since I’ve left that career- because Isabel has become my go-to fashion spot. Every time I come into her shop, either Isabel or her team takes the time to help me get dressed in the cutest pieces. Literally almost everything in my wardrobe (including the best high-waisted jeans) are from Sanity.
